How to find the right size?

To measure your head, use a flexible tape measure. If you don't have a tape measure, you can take a piece of string and wrap it around your head, then place it on a ruler.

Choose the right size

The fit should be firm, but not tight. If you’re at the upper end, consider going up one size if you prefer a looser fit. If you're in between sizes, please choose the larger size.

FAQs

Keep these tips in mind:

  1. Use a flexible measuring tape to measure the widest part of your head.

  2. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight. Leave a little space so that the helmet sits comfortably and is not too close to your head.

  3. Take the measurement while wearing your usual hairstyle, including ponytails, braids, thick hair, or curls. Do not press your hair flat.

  4. Consider any accessories you typically wear with the helmet, such as glasses or hearing protection.

  5. For the most accurate size, measure under normal conditions (not right after exercise or a hot shower).

  6. If your measurement is at the upper end of a size range, we recommend choosing the larger size for comfort.

  7. Double-check your measurements with the Ribcap team to ensure accuracy.

Always choose the larger size to ensure a comfortable fit. A slightly looser fit is better than one that is too tight.

You can use a piece of string or ribbon, wrap it around your head, and then measure the length against a ruler.

Our smallest kids helmet, the ‘mini’, can fit children with a head circumference of 47-49cm / 18.5-19.3 inches. This is typically suitable for children aged 5 years and up. There are children who have a larger head circumference and need an adult size. If your child is size "Maxi," your child may fit in the "Small" for adults, but we always recommend that you measure your child’s head first, to ensure the best possible fit.

  1. Some Ribcaps have flexible materials that can slightly stretch over time. Wearing it for short periods may help it conform to your head shape.

  2. If your Ribcap has adjustable straps or fastenings, try loosening them for a more comfortable fit.

  3. If the material allows, you can try carefully stretching it by placing it over an object slightly larger than your head (like a ball) overnight.

  4. If the fit remains uncomfortable, check our return or exchange policy to see if you can swap it for a better size.

Disclaimer: if you want to return the Ribcap helmet, it must be in the same condition as when you received it. If this is not the case, the return may be refused.

We know that we’re all different, in all shapes and sizes, but unfortunately, due to our focus on giving everyone access to Ribcap, we want to ensure that no one is left out, so we cater for the majority of users, as we’ve found that our sizes fit practically everyone.
